Basic Character Sheet.
Name: Kiyomizu Shusui or Shusui Kiyomizu (English adaptation)
Gender: Male
Age: Seventeen
Height: 5'7"
Hometown: Kusagakure no Sato / Kusa no Kuni (Hidden Grass Village / Land of Grass
Hair: Shusui's hair is a shade of dark brown and it comes down to about the upper back length. It's usually held out as is or can be tied back into a ponytail.
Eyes: Turquoise
Species: Ningen / Human
Profession: "I kill people and sneak around for a living. Takin' up jobs from the higher-ups." Ninja, obv.
Clothes: Shusui wears the standard issue dark green Chuunin vest. He has two pair of these, one with sleeves and the other is sleeveless. When not wearing his shinobi gear, he can be seen wearing multitudes of things, but it centers around neutral colors and saggy/loose fitting clothing.
Accessories: While wearing the sleeveless vest, a tattoo of a green Kusagakure hitai-ate symbol adorns each arm right below the shoulder. While bandages are tightly wrapped around his lower arm, right below the elbow. Other than that, his clothing is generally dark or neutral colored and they usually hang simi-loosely with long sleeves. His hitai-ate hangs either on his forehead or wrapped around his left arm.
History: It was seventeen years ago that I was born. Nothing too special, just another product of a pair of people that felt the need to have a kid. Completely ignoring the face that we live in a village of deadly ninja, they wanted to raise me in a good place. I'd say they did a damn good job, too.
My parents. Dunno' if you've heard of them or not. Their names are Kiyomizu Ryushi and Sayoko, respectively. Good people, I'd tell you. Well, not all the time.. But, that's to be expected right? No one's good all the time. But, I tell you what. You don't wanna' cross my mother though. She has a pretty nasty streak if you mess with her too much. Nevermind that she stopped her shinobi training after Chuunin rank, that woman can go batshit.
Now, the old man... Oh right, that's my name for my father Ryushi. He doesn't like it much I know, but he's had to get used to it. Heh. Well, he's really nothing special. Not even a ninja. I sometimes wonder how the hell that he and my mother had paired up. Not saying that I dislike the old man or anything. It's just hard to imagine how a kunoichi could fall in love with a normal man. But, whatever.
I have three younger siblings, all brats. Nijika, Atsui, and Nagato are their names. Niji is fifteen years old and people say that she looks like an overly-feminine version of me. I personally wouldn't say that, but whatever. She's really cool, too. I try to talk to her when I'm not too busy. She decided not to attend the Shinobi academy though, she loves her books, that girl.
Atsui and Nagato just happen to be twins. They're also eleven-years-old and they're bad as hell. Oh man, you should see the type of shit that they get into. You wouldn't believe! But, yeah. They're not identical twins though. Nagato got our mother's looks while the rest of us got dad's. So, instead of the brown hair and green eyes that we have, his hair is brown and he has this murky grey color to his eyes. It's so weird when he gets mad. It's like they swirl around like clouds from a thunderstorm.
But enough about them. This Bio is about me. Like I said before, I was born on May 22nd. that would make me a Gemini as well. On that same note, did you know that there are certain personality traits that come with that sign? Well, that's what Ma' said to me before. Supposedly we're very "airy" people. Like, we're restless and full of energy..or something like that. Very intellectual and full of questions and the like. That we don't like the mundane and repetitive things in our world. Hell, I'd say she nailed that about right.
She also told me that when I was younger, all I would do was ask questions. 'Why does that do that?' 'Who is that?' 'What happened to that?' It used to drive them nuts. Oh, and they said I used to wander alot. Without any real place in mind. I think it was just to escape how boring things were.
"Lemme tell you a story that my parents told me. Well, I was like six-years-old right...and my parents had taken me and Nijika around with them when they went out shopping with some friends and stuff. Well, it turns out that I had slipped off without them knowing. But, seriously... How could you have missed the warmth of a human hand switched with the fuzziness of a stuffed bunny? That was just inattentiveness on their part.
Moving on... Well, they eventually found that I was not with them and that I'd slipped away. I really don't remember it that well... I mean, I was six and all. But, somehow I had made it from the village's shopping district all the way over to the Wine Goddess' shrine temple and was "rescued" by a kunoichi that had happened to pass by.
To wrap up the story neatly, she brought me back to my parents and we eventually became friends with the woman. It's hazy, but I do remember flying through the air. I loved that feeling... Shoot, I think that feeling kinda' jumpstarted my drive to be a ninja.
For the next few years, things had been pretty much the same. I was running around and getting into stuff and all that. I was still asking all kind of questions to just about anyone that I could find to answer me. You know. Same ol', same ol'. Well, until I was about ten.
Ah, that's when shit hit the fan. Well, figuratively of course. When I was ten, I told my mom that I wanted to be enrolled in the Shinobi Academy. I think she fainted as soon as I told her, too. Seriously, it wasn't that big of a deal. I mean, sure. I usually didn't finish what I started...but I really wanted to do this! You can't fault me for that. For the next few weeks Ma' and Pop tried so hard to change my mind about it. I told 'em every time. "I wanna' be a shinobi." Eventually, they caved.
So, after a few more weeks (Had to wait for the new term to start.) I was formally enrolled in Kusa's Shinobi Academy. I liked it at first, I really did. It was fun and the teachers were very infomative when I asked them stuff. It was pretty hard, though having Ma' as a former Shinobi did help me a bit.
Then something changed. I honestly don't know what it was, really. After my uncle and aunt died on missions and my grandfather died, the atmosphere just kind of changed. My parents seemed to be irritated all the time. They would snap at me almost every time that I asked the something and they were pretty mean otherwise too. It didn't help that my peers didn't really like me much either. They thought I was stupid because I asked so many questions and I got mediocre grades. The material just wasn't interesting anymore. So, I just asked questions just to pass time.
That all stopped the next year, though. I just got tired of dealing with all the backlash of my questioning. I had just wanted to know what was going on. In any case, I just stopped asking questions. I'd silently absorb what people were saying and just process it on my own. It wasn't worth the trouble of getting bitched at for asking a simple question anymore.
So, I just mellowed out. I didn't let stuff bother me as much on the outside. Didn't ask too many questions about it. Though, I did analyze it while on the outside keeping a mask of indifference and boredom. Which was in turn covered by laziness. Heh.
I did find a sort of purpose though. I found that I love messing with people's minds. I don't exactly mean it like that, though. I found that I was very interested in how people thought as well as how that determined how they acted. Pshychology is very interesting, you know? It's kinda' fun to pick out what people mean in how they act. Though, it's best if you can have them act naturally. Makes it easier.
Oh! I did find that I had an affinity for genjutsu, too. I like the premise of that. Not only can I determine what a person is thinking, feeling, seeing, or acting, I can also manipulate it. That's pretty damn cool, if I say so myself. Throw a taijutsu style that allows me to literally pick apart my foe and you have one hell of a combination! It doen't even take too much of an effort either.
After breezing past that Genin graduation test I was assigned to at team. Now, going agaisnt normal protocol we had one male and two females on the team instead of the opposite. Yeah, and a female Jounin instructor. You could almost smell the estrogen, I mean shit. You ever been on a team with them all having periods at the same time?
All jokes aside, they were cool. The two kunoichi were cool. Names were Nagasumi Mayuki and Tsukimiya Haruka with the Jounin's name being Tamayaki Ritsuka. Haruka was a pretty advanced ninjutsu user. She was great with her Mokuton jutsu, while Mayuki's speed was just demonic with her sword. I forgot what kind of technique it was now...uh the Sleeping Blue Dragon Iajutsu, I think it was...
Now our Jounin on the other hand, oh man. She was just kick-assery in the purest form. I made the mistake of thinking that she wasn't that strong when we all sparred with her the first time. She pounded My azz into the dirt so hard, I'm still not sure that all of the bruises and stuff are gone. She didn't even use Ninjutsu either. Just whooped all of our asses with pure Taijutsu. We were no match at all...until we(I) learned to work together. Then it got a bit better.
Over the next few years we would complete our fair shares or missions. I'd say we had one of the best completion percentages that Kusagakure has ever seen. We passed the Chuunin exam our first time, too. But, Haruka got poisoned pretty bad during the second stage by a Suna-nin. It took quite a while to get her back up to fighting condition. I'm really surprised that we all made it. I heard that usually doesn't happen, but then again I'm not really surprised since there were a record number of Chuunin that were named that day. 'Gain, it was probably a fluke that we made it.
Since then, the four of us split. Ritsuka-sensei took another batch of genin students. Mayuki went on to private tutor for her sword style and I think I heard that Haruka got pregnant by a fellow Chuunin and had to go off-duty for a while. As for me, I'm just doing the same stuff. Taking missions for Kusagakure and trying to better my skills.
...Nothing too special.
Personality: Shusui is a very easy going person, maybe even to the point where one could call him annoying. He has a good heart though, and is a liberal person. Shusui can be seen sometimes as a very finicky person, simply because of his personality. He becomes deeply engrossed with something of interest, before coming bored with it and abandoning it altogether. He is very outgoing and cares a lot about his fellow Kusagakure shinobi and citizens. He loves lounging around, whether it is by himself, or with others. He loves to train and fight, preferring that second only to his love of lounging around. To him life is a game which must always be full of fresh moves and continuous entertainment, free of monotonous labor and routine.
Even as a child, Shusui was, and still can be found constantly “drifting off”, in the middle of someone addressing him (though he’ll deny this, because in truth he does not need to be actively listening to hear what another is saying.), which has gotten him into many bad situations, though mostly with teachers and ex-girlfriends. He loves the unusual and novel aspects of life, though he sometimes sees them as having a different meaning than others.
He also loves when different events happen and hates the mundane, which causes him to go back to his own thoughts to keep himself occupied. Boredom among nothing else, is his most hated enemy. He simply hates being bored. That in and of itself, as well as the feeling of being “tied down” are the reasons why he did average in school. He found the simple lectures and the fact that they were pretty much restricted to desks to be completely abhorrent.
Oddly enough, Shusui is a pretty introspective person. When not occupied with other things, he can be one that will just sit back and just think. Reflect on some things. He also developed a love for pshychology. More specifically how a person thinks and how that determines how they act and what they say. He loves to pick out different "tells" from others and find out what they're thinking. He also loves to try to manipulate people into what he wants them to do, whether maleviolently or not.
Abilities: Uses the taijutsu (hand-to-hand) style Ahou no Ojike or "Fool's Bane". Basically, it allows him to pick out weaknesses and attack pressure points on a target's body. Accurate with weapon useage, and able to get the most out of his weapons.
Uses various ninjutsu (ninja art/magic) and genjutsu (Illusion) on his foes. Mainly focused on Kusa (Grass) ninjutsu and genjutsu when uses surrounding flora and fauna as a weapon. Can use some Doton (Earth Style) ninjutsu to move under the earth and to create spike that attack the target.
Weapon(s): Explosive Tags, Flash Bangs Smoke Bombs, Hallucinogenic Poison, Shaken (foot spikes), Razor Wire, Kunai, Shuriken.
Any Extras: Loves to read. Favorite color is green. Astute in multi-tasking. Has an ability to intake information without actively paying attention. Mischievous. Flirt. Born May 22nd.
Chuunin-level ninja from Kusagakure no Sato. (Village Hidden in Grass)
Quick RP: "Man, I wonder what I feel like doing today?"
Shusui was wandering around the Stadium area in barely concealed excitement. This was his favorite time of year! There were hundreds of people out and about, with tons of colorful decorations that were streamed across building tops and vending carts. Sake was flowing freely, the people were happy and there was so much to do!
But, the real experience of the Fest would have to wait for him. Earlier that morning, a letter came to his window that stated that he had to do some patrol of Training Ground One that was right next the the stadium. There were supposed to be two to three people that would take over the first watch of the ground with him. The letter didn't really say who and he really hoped that the people would be at least simi-interesting to be around with.
It wasn't really a bad thing, persay. It just wasting time by enjoying the games and stuff that were there and checking to see if everything was running smoothly. He just didn't want to stay in the same area the entire time. He'd just have to dupe one of the people with him to take over his shift for a second, hehe.
It wouldn't be -that- hard. He'd done it before.
While he had been wrapped up in his thoughts, he didn't realise that he had already gotten to the designated area. He blinked a few times to clear his thoughts, as he made his way over to a bench that was set up. Sitting down casually, he played his arms across the back of the wooden seat. Now, it was just time to meet his partners for his patrol. He couldn't help but think though...
